What They're Saying

Over the past 12 years, we’ve spent thousands of hours in individual therapy sessions with individual clients, and we’ve trained and certified private therapists, equine facilitators, horse specialists and behavioral health programs in a new evidence-based equine assisted psychotherapy model that truly works.

We’re proud of the long-term success experienced by our individual clients, as well as the success of our certified therapists, programs, and practices.  Here are a few comments from our clients.

Testimonials

  • I have found that having equine therapy as part of our program has been one of the most effective tools we have in helping residents understand how their behavior effects their environment. It teaches them to understand that what they do matters.

  • I have had the opportunity to have Mike Randall and his staff, conduct an Equine Therapy/Professional Development session for two different high school staffs of 40 + employees. I can honestly say that both experiences were the best trainings ever provided to myself and my employees.

I have had the opportunity to have Mike Randall and his staff, conduct an Equine Therapy/Professional Development session for two different high school staffs of 40 + employees. I can honestly say that both experiences were the best trainings ever provided to myself and my employees.

Even 2 and more years after the training, I still hear employees refer back to what they learned and experienced with the Equine Therapy session. The training was highly organized, very engaging and thought provoking. Some individuals had some anxiety working with horses but that fear was quickly erased by the safe methods and caring instructors. The training was highly professional, fast moving and with little to no down time.

I would highly recommend Mike Randall and his staff to provide Equine Therapy/Professional Development to practically any type of business and their employees.

I am a therapist at a residential youth treatment center. We use many of the techniques taught by Mike Randall in our equine therapy program. Our residents struggle with addictions, abuse, relationship issues, trauma, and anxiety. The techniques used in this equine therapy program empower our residents to face their fears, build trusting relationships, experience empathy, learn healthy boundaries, set and achieve goals, and develop leadership skills. One of the most unique aspects of this program is the reciprocating relationship that is developed between the resident and the horse. While the residents are learning new ways of coping with problems, they are helping the horses learn to trust humans and learn new skills.

As an example, one of our residents was struggling to progress in any aspect of treatment. She had run away from several other treatment centers in the past.  As she continued her therapy, she began to make progress. She later stated that because of the relationship she’d developed with the horse she’d been working with, she decided to stay and she was successful with progressing in treatment for the first time.

Another example of how much the equine therapy program helps our residents occurred when one of our girls got to get on a horse for the first time. At first, she was afraid. After several attempts she walked away. Then with encouragement from the therapist, she determined that she was going to get on the horse that day. She turned around, overcame her fears, and got on the horse. She was so excited about being on the horse and about what she had accomplished. In her past she was used to running away from her problems, but through working in equine therapy she learned that if she doesn’t give up, she can accomplish anything. That day marked the beginning of her putting more effort into following the treatment center rules and expectations.

I have found that having equine therapy as part of our program has been one of the most effective tools we have in helping residents understand how their behavior effects their environment. It teaches them to understand that what they do matters.
